Discover the Home...... Discover the Hero!

Welcome to the home of the Bishop Family and the boyhood home of Billy Bishop
Visit this beautiful Victorian home and Museum in the heart of Owen Sound, Ontario.  Billy Bishop Home was built in 1884 and showcases the Bishop family history.  It is also the boyhood home of William Avery “Billy” Bishop, the charismatic hero of the Great War.  An adventurous, mischievous, and restless spirit, Billy was driven to be the best in all he did.  Take a step back in time to explore the lives of the Bishop Family, and discover the story of one of our Canadian Icons. The museum also serves to remember the contributions of the many service men and women from our community, and throughout the region, to always remember our Veteran’s and those currently serving.

Gardens
Come and enjoy some time on our large, beautiful grounds in the spring and summer months. Bring a blanket and picnic in the yard, or sit in the shade on the veranda to enjoy the sights and smells of our ever-expanding Victorian gardens. The restoration and maintenance of the gardens is due in great part to the efforts of several volunteers over the years.  Thanks to all for their tireless efforts to restore the grounds to the Victorian splendor of the days when Billy Bishop was a boy
