  • Use the museum as a primary source of research while utilizing educational materials available as secondary sources to compliment the tour
  • Develop inquiry/research and communication skills by asking questions, and observing museum artifacts
  • Allow students to have a better understanding of the impact of the war on Canadians, realizing it had a local impact as well
  • See how individual and local hero Billy Bishop contributed to the fight for freedom
  • Understand the changing role of women in the military
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Canada’s participation in WWI and II, the roles of Canadian men and women and the contributions of war veterans to Canada and world history via tour and/or temporary exhibit in Oct-Nov. honouring veterans of Grey-Bruce
  • While learning about Billy Bishop and his family, consider the impact of war on Bishop, his family and other families like theirs (maybe even the student’s family)
  • Allow a forum to formulate questions to facilitate further research on WWI and II

Utilize educational materials provided by the Museum’s Educational Program to communicate the results of inquiries via various mediums such as: media works, art, oral presentations, written notes and reports, charts, and maps.
